Title: Electric fan
Post by: jjdruffel on June 01, 2016, 11:49:12 AM
Hey guys. I found this fan on Craigslist in my area for 20 bucks. I wanted to replace the fan on my 81 K10 with an electric fan. This one sounds like it was used an an auxiliary fan but I'm wondering if anyone knows if it will replace the fan entirely. Any advice helps!

Here's the original post.
Have a factory chevy blazer pickup suburban HD cooling electric fan. 12 inch fan and is 2 1/8 thick at the fan motor. Came factory with AC and HD cooling.should fit 81-89 blazer, 81-90 Suburban

Although I do not have the relevant airflow specs to share with you, that auxiliary fan is not suitable as the primary cooling fan.  It simply does not move enough air.  It does work well, however, for augmenting the primary cooling fan, which typically is 18" - 20" in diameter.

Thank you for posting a reply so quickly! I'll look search around for a thread on electric fans and try to find some more information so I don't have to run to you guys for help next time.

Trust us when we say the people on here have done enough eletrical fan swaps, we have it pretty much figured out. Ask as many questions as you like. BD himself is a wealth of knowledge and experience. I know enough to be dangerous and probably more than I should be allowed too lol.

Probably unnecessary and overkill, but something to think about:
