Well I thought I would post some pics of my truck. The first 2 are how it looked when I bought it. Pretty much all stock; 305, baby tires, no lift, original exhaust including catalytic converter, and 78,000 miles. It was a great a truck, 1 paint job since new, but all the original body panels are still there except the right fender because of a slight fender bender. Actually no rust. Anywhere. But I wasn't happy with it so I immediately lifted it 5 inches, put on 33's, bought ceramic headers and duals with flowmasters, and replaced the 3.08's with 3.73's, and got rid of the blacked out grille for a billet grille and chrome bezels. Much better, but it was still just a 305. I ended up building a carbureted Vortec that is mainly stock with a few slight tweaks. I tuned it with a wide-band O2 sensor and am getting around 16 mpg's. Afterward, I noticed that the transmission (700R4) was a little weak, but I've been limping it around for probably 4 years. I don't drive it much, about 6000 miles in 5 or so years. I am finally getting a tranny build by a local transmission shop and I told them to build it like it was their own. So hopefully it will be good. Well I found the forum while I was searching for a push bar/brush guard for the old truck. I've own about 6 of these over the years, this I is by far the best one, and I'd purchased brush guards before for these. I guess that was a few years ago now and I can't find anyone still making them. Does anyone know of where I can find one? I would appreciate any help. Thank you. I've really enjoyed looking at and reading about some of the other old trucks on here.
