Title: Exhaust gas smell in cabin
Post by: ChrisD on March 05, 2024, 04:07:28 AM
Hi,
my 1978 250i6 smells of exhaust fumes in the cabin.
My mechanic had allready checked the exhaust, with blocking the end and then looking an listen if there's a leak, but he didn't find anything.

Do someone have anorher tip, where i can have a look?

Regards
Chris

Do you hear an exhaust leak? Do you smell any odors around the truck that resemble what you smell inside?

Hi, no i don't hear a leak and i didn‘t smelled it outside until now - only at the rear.
Could it be the agr valve?

Okay, I cut a small sheet of metal to size and put it between the EGR and the seal. It's much better since then. Only at the traffic lights does it sometimes still pull in, but that can go under the truck
