"Choke" Light
« on: July 30, 2006, 10:37:00 PM »
I've noticed in my 78scottsdale 2wd 4speed granny that the "choke" light comes on occasionally for no apparent reason. I remember it comming on once when it was raining and actually staying on. Sometimes when I jump in to go somewhere it will come on, and other times it will not. It has a single barrel carburetor, I'm just curious to know what actually works this Choke light and is something malfunctioning or what? I don't notice any difference in driveability if it's on or off I'm just curious.

I forgot to mention the engine is an inline 250 6 cylinder with a single barrel carb.

Is the wire hooked up?  Is it frayed and grounding somewhere?
