You can search " extended cab" and come up with a lot of posts. I haven't had time to do much to mine so most of the threads have grown stagnant. Hopefully this spring I can start one.

The J code motor does not have an egr valve.
If you google "6.2 j code manifold" it will show a link to a YouTube video that shows the difference between the C code (emissions) and the J code (non emission) manifolds.

I have an '84 K20 that is possibly a rare specimen.
It has the 6.2 C code, 700R4, with 8600GVWR.
From what I've read here, the 8600GVWR in a 4x4 is odd. It has the 13" rear drums, JD/JB7 front calipers, with quad front shocks.
It is a Silverado package that was ordered with most options;
PW, PL, CC, AC, tilt column, premium sound, carpet w/ full floor mat over it.
Sliding rear window, clearance markers, two tone tan+brown paint, dual saddle tanks.
The wheels; I can't find if they are OEM, but have seen them in Chevrolet advertising of the time. They are white wagon wheels.
I'm probably forgetting some.

All I can say is; it is an amazing rig to drive. The 6.2 puts out great power, I average 19MPG.

I forgot to add, it also has factory clock and headliner.

I have a few pictures. I haven't taken a ton because it is a bit mismatched and missing things.

Inside when I bought it;

After bringing it home;

After adding CUCV guard and blanket;

I have replaced the head lights and clearance markers since then.

Nice looking truck! My dad's 82 K20 was an 8600GVWR and it was a 4x4. Now granted it had a 350 VIN code M gas engine and a TH400 3 speed auto trans with the semi float 14 bolt rear end. It also had the 13 inch rear drums. Some of those options may not be as rare as you might think.
