Really?  Oh, I read the post.  How about the part where he said when it was in, it overheated?  When he removed it, it didn't? 

my diagnosis?  Thermostadt.


just so you know he didnt say it overheated with the thermostat in...he said the hoses got hot except the upper hose...

You sure it isnt a bad radiator cap not letting pressure build up in the radiator, with the thermostat out their isnt any restriction to push past.

Sounds like you didn't bleed the system. DO not run straight water either.

An engine will overheat if the thermostat is stuck closed. An air bubble or a hose being sucked in is my guess, unless it's the wrong temp thermostat?

It was a stock replacement 195 thermostat  I havent had a chance to exchange it yet. Been too busy truckin. Will update when i get it exchanged

a bad cap would allow the water to boil out not just over heat

New thermostat exchanged with yet another new one and installed. That fixed it.

I havent addressed the dipstick issue yet. As of right now its not a dd and can wait. Also I have done many engine swaps so I can do those within a few hours.
