Title: Wilwood D52 calipers for a 1985 c10
Post by: Danzilla72 on November 01, 2019, 12:12:26 AM
I am currently working on my 1985 Chevy lwb truck and I’m fixing to start the front end rebuild with a rear disk brake conversion that I got from Wilwood. When I started buying everything to complete this endeavor I was under the impression that I could get the matching brake calipers for the front in Wilwood D52 duel piston models; however, I keep coming up with conflicting information on the subject. Most of the major retailers show that they make the calipers for a 1985 besides SummitRacing. I contacted Wilwood about it and they said they do not fit a 1985 c10 that it stops at 1978. I also contacted cpp about a set they had for sale on eBay that were the right size for the powerstop rotors I got (1.28 width) and their response was they would fit that rotor but didn’t say they would fit my year. Anyone using Wilwood D52 on a truck later than 1978 and if so any issues.

There are minor changes, banjo bolt sizes and hoses but they should fit.

like vile said, in 1978 They switched from a 7/16" banjo fitting to a 10mm banjo fitting on the caliper. you can drill out the 10mm brake hose for the 7/16s hose but being a brake hose im not going to say to do it as if you screw it up it will be a major safety issue
