Title: Shift kits

Hi, I want to give my truck a bit more kick. Now a buddy of mine had a shift kit in his 1948 chevy truck and it ran awesome. Now I am thinking of getting one, and I found a B&M shift improver for about $80. Have any one of you tried this and like it, and have any of you installed it because it looks like a chip, (a chip IN the transmission)??

I have used one in the past....ran great and made it to where my tranny wouldn't slip into second anymore. What do you mean by chip? What tranny are you running?

A shift improver kit requires removing the valve body and making a few pressure changes by replacing some springs, check balls, and enlarging a few ports typically. Updating the servo and a few other simple tweaks but there is no chip that you install. These trucks are not equipped with electronically controlled transmissions with a few exceptions (4L80E)

I know im saying it looks like sometype of chip.........
