Title: 1989 gmc v3500
Post by: crewcabfetish19 on March 01, 2016, 10:01:00 PM
Hey, new to the site. I project right now is a 1989 gmc v3500, sierra sle package, with tbi454/400/205 drivetrain setup, 4x4 dually. It has power everything, literally every option offered from the factory at the time. Its was a local show truck at an off road shop when it was new, been siting 15 years, now i've put it back together (never realized how hard it was to find info on the r/v trucks haha) Im just wondering how rare is this truck? Of course I can't find production numbers, but just let me know what y'all think? pics will come :)
ps- also looking for good 35-37 in tires for 16.5 rim. Ideas?

welcome from maryland, the only 16.5 that you may find would be old military take offs but theyre 12.5".

It's not a highly common rig, though not a highly rare one.
The 454/400 combo is a bit common, and depends on how loaded it is.
Mine was loaded to the point of having factory carpet and floor liner together.

that is what my buddys v3500 dually is a 454/th400 205. it wouldnt be all that common back then for these trucks but since only crew burbs and blazers kept the old style makes them a little harder to find. and most like other people when it comes to part searching most times youre better off stepping back to a 87 v3500
