I'm assuming you've not heard of google?

Water Injection shares some of the benefits of EGR, in that you can advance the timing, less heat, and could give you better mileage (due to the more ignition advance and it takes up space).

I added a gallon of water to each of my gas tanks and it didn't allow me to run more ignition advance.  In fact it doesn't run at all now.   :D

For the added complexity and cost, I think water injection is best left to the guy trying to squeeze a few more PSI out of his turbo'd, or supercharged engine.

Are people really doing this on NA motors?

My strategy was to run very high compression---14.5 to 1 if possible and by using water injection, i would still be able to run 87 octane.  Mileage would probably go up to at least 24 mpg.

But the more i think about it, i feel the truck, in it's present state is basically serving me well;  i'm not using it as my main transportation so it would probably not be worth the changeover hassle.

But we should still discuss it because it could be very important to our future.
