1987 4x4 r-10 ?
« on: October 28, 2015, 10:22:08 PM »
Hello
 I have a mongrel truck that I believe is a 1987 r-10. 4x4 6' bed
I am confused about what y pipe to get
The one that rusted off had the o2 sensor up close to the manifold
Can anyone give me a part number ? There is no other exhaust pieces to match up to in the truck now . I just need the right y pipe .
   Anyone please ?

If it's a 4x4, it's a V-10, not an R-10, which is 2WD.

Which engine does it have?

You can select "Product Options" on this page to select "V10" and either "V6" or "V8" to get the right product.  Note you may have to drill out the sensor port.  I guess they put the bung on the pipe, but don't drill it out, so it is the same part whether you want to install the sensor for the computer TBI or go carbed without the sensor.

I've seen a couple different style manifolds, but they all had the o2 sensor in the manifold not the y pipe. Is the truck TBI or carbureted? 87 V10 should be TBI.

The truck had a o2 sensor close to manifold on the y pipe . It probably was changed before I got it . The y pipe I ordered has the o2 down stream of the "y" pieces . I will probably put it up high so I don't have to cut the wires .
