Here is my 86 Silverado, I am the second owner of the truck.  It is all original with 76k miles on it.  The first picture is the day I picked it up with my son and the second one is from today when I drove it to work.

I have rebuilt the entire front suspension, lowered it 2"/5", painted the stock rally wheels and put a set of 255/70/15 Cooper tires on it.  Rides and drives perfect now.

Hoping to fix the exhaust this winter (still has the original pancake converter in it) and rebuild the carb.  If I get time I would like to swap the 3.08 gears out to a 4.10 gear with a limited slip diff.

Nice truck bubba2400!!   I just bought an "87" Silverado with 74,000 original miles.  I'm lucky enough to be the second owner as well.  I've been wanting to drop mine but not really sure which method I'm going with yet.  I'd like it to sit about the same as yours, so I'm curious on which method you chose?   Thanks in advance.

Sweet, I really like two tones.

It's funny, I used to call my '86 K30. 454, 4 spd dually Bubba.  8)

I cut one full coil out of the front springs and removed all but three springs in the rear.  It rides really nice now, the rear used to be really stiff with all the leafs in it.   I used the top two leafs and the one leaf with the alignment clamp on it.

With only the three leafs in the rear it isn't too soft either.  I hauled 3 sheets of 3/4" MDF last week and it was fine.

Decided to make it run good.  Rebuilt the original Quadrajet, installed new plugs (6 of the 8 were loose), new plug wires, new cap and rotor, bypassed the spark control module and recurved the distributor timing.

Also put a set of 3/4 length headers in to 3" exhaust with an X pipe and two chamber mufflers dumped right before the axle.  Sounds really mean for being a bone stock 305!!

I have a set of 4.56 gears that I will be installing in the near future, hopefully I can get that done in the next month or two.
