HOW TO WIRE POWER WINDOWS IN MY 79 CHEVY

I HAVE A 79 CHEVY AND A 87 GMC THE CAB ON THE 79 IS THE BEST HOW DO YOU WIRE POWER WINDOWS IF THE TRUCK DOES NOT HAVE THEM. I WILL USE THE MOTORS FROM MY 87. THANKS

Best bet is to pluck the harness from the donor or get an aftermarket kit. I just eliminated the power windows fom my truck so I have manual windows but if I ever want to go back just have to hook them up. Another option is to make your own harness, just follow the schematic...do you have a schematic available?

an easy way, stop by a shop, and ask them for a wiring diagram for your window motors. Explain to them that your Haynes,Chilton Manual doesn't have that great of detail. If the shop has the new Mitchell software you might even find a colored wiring diagram.
Tip them a little something for there time,
Or browsr threw your local library, you might luck out and find a nice wiring schematic book.

with two relays you can wire it up with minimal junkyarding.  Also when you get around to putting an alarm in if you have two extra channels like i did you can hook this into your alarm so your windows go up and down with the touch of buttons 1/2 mile from your truck.

If the 87 has power windows the harness is completely seperate from the rest of the truck, just remove it and plug it in to a power source and ground it the same.
