exhaust complete
« on: March 18, 2003, 09:05:00 AM »
Finished my exhaust today. I installed Dynomax Headers and a 2 1/2 inch true dual exhaust w/flowmasters (series 40) on my 79 GMC 4x4.
Big difference in throttle response, huge difference in acceleration, added top end. Im very pleased with the performance. for 456$ total, thats a good deal! In high gear i can put the pedal down and it takes off. The pedal is so much 'lighter'
However, do flowmaster mufflers take time to louden/break in? I was expecting a loud rumble but its quite mellow, still good though! Im happy with it anyhow! Anyone interested in some pics? www.geocities.com/nickysavage/Truck/headers.html

Sounds like the way I want to set mine up.  Those Flowmasters are going to sound that way until they rust out.  I've had mine for several years now.  It is whisper quiet at an idle, but kind of has a deep growl when you get on it.  I think they are perfect.  That deep tone makes it sound a little like a big block :D

I was wondering, are they the original 40 series or the new delta flow 40 series?
