3/4 ton 14 bolt 9.5 inch and Dana 44 worth it?

Hey guys a came across a 3/4 ton burb today. It has a 14 bolt and a Dana 44 in the front 8 lug. I can get the axles for 150$ each. Would it be worth getting them and swapping them into my 79 1/2 ton? Off the top of your head would the swap be easy or would there be bumps in the road?

ie: drive shafts reworked? (Custom drive shafts local guy charges 300$) parking brake? Etc. the burb was a 83 with a auto. Mine is a 79 with a manual.

Oh and I’d need to find hubs... unless the ones from my 1/2 ton would fit

i would pass as thats only a 14 semi floater and not the full floater. its not worth the swap imo. the front axle should be pretty much the same strength as the one you have now with the exception of the two extra studs. looks for a ¾ ton 14 bolt full floater.

not really, it was found in ¾ and 1 tons with the heavier GVWR. i think finding a ¾ ton burb is hard to do let alone finding one with a FF (full floater). but nothing will be impossible as people have often swapped rears. the dana 44 or 10 bolt front will only be found in ¾ tons and ½ tons (6 lugs), the dana 60 will only be found in 1 tons

I had a 91 burb 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton with a 454/4L80 and a 3.73 14 bolt FF rear end. They are out there.
Keep in mind that the spring perches are different between the 3/4 tons and the 1 tons.  To run a 1 ton unit in a 1/2 ton truck you will have to move the spring perches on the axle or use the 1 ton spring hangers.  I'd hold out for a 3/4 ton  F F.

I just saw a 454 2wd burb at a junk yard! I didn’t really look to see if it was a F F. I’d probably cut and move the perches. I used to be a welder/fabricator, I just did that a few months ago on my dads old gmc when it blew a rear axle. Thanks for the reply’s guys
