Title: Plenum Removal & Replacement
Post by: amanda454 on January 12, 2021, 03:40:34 PM
Hi guys,

Trying to remove the air duct running below the dash. Slid it as far right as possible and tried to pull down left side, but got about an inch of overhang before I clear the parking brake mechanism. Watching people easily yank it out on videos and wondering why I can't do the same. What I am missing? Do I have to disconnect the parking brake pull?

Duct is cracked pretty good on the ends. I'm replacing piece of tubing behind dash to right side air vent with 3-inch insulated flexible duct and hose clamps. Could I replace plenum with same flexi duct (assuming I ever get the darn thing out)...?

First post, hope I explained it ok and put this in the right place!

Take the bolt out and give it a good tug. Removing the panel under the column can help make it a little easier.

Victory! thanks for your help.

What do you think about my duct idea of replacing this piece with 3in insulated flexi duct?

Why do you want to do that?

Hah. Fair question. I thought my plastic was in worse shape than it actually is. Got it cleaned and taped up and it's fine. So i'll stand down.   :D

Thanks for replying.
