Holley Sniper Fuel System Setup
« on: February 19, 2017, 01:47:08 PM »
Hey guys, I've got a bone stock 76 GMC suburban, just picked up the Holley Sniper TBI kit and wanted to know what needed to be done to the gas tank in order to make this thing work. A friend on mine mentioned installing a different sending unit, I can hook it all up I just don't know what to get. Thanks.

How much lbs. does the Sniper system require for the pump?

Looks like 60psi, kit was the "master kit" so it came with fuel line, filters, the pump and tons of different fittings

If you have a stock 76 setup, then the simplest thing may be to use a fuel pump reservoir and not even mess with the stock tank.

Run a 87-up sending unit and run a EP381 pump in it.

But then, what about baffles?

I personally would run hydramat in the bottom of it.

You don't need them anyway if you keep the tank over 1/4

Ditto on what Vile stated.  Hundreds of these running around without them.
Just don't do any parking lot cone races in it and expect it not to slosh.

Quick update guys, the Sniper has been installed, the Suburban runs incredibly well. Amazing throttle response, zero hesitation during startup/idle, accelerates much faster now. Thanks to the folks on this forum who put up with all my questions regarding the build.

Did you run the inline pump or install one in the tank?

I ended up installing an inline pump (included with the Holley Sniper Master Kit), came with all the fittings, pre-post fuel filters and tons of hose/hose clamps.

Exceeded my expectations.

any pics of the installed unit? looking into one of these for my 74. according to holley, I can use this system and still use the stock air cleaner for a stock look.
