Spare tire well size
« on: December 08, 2010, 04:18:40 PM »
Can anyone get me a measurement on the spare tire well in a Burb?  I need to know my space limitations.  I would like a depth measurement, a width measurement and the length, from front to back, at floor level.  If anyone can get to a burb, I would greatly appreciate it.  Mine is buried under 2 feet of snow and it acting like a storage container full of junk so I can't get it myself.  Thanks.

Are you wanting to know how big a tire can fit?

Well a 235/75/15 tire will fit in there no problem so you are looking at least 30" tall x 30" long x 10" wide if you are talking about the whole area.  Are you talking about just the floor?

Its a round box and i'm going to reuse the spare tire cover so no one knows there's subs there  I know I had a 235 86 r16 as a spare for a while so i'll use that as a guide.  Thanks.

i hope you don't ever get a flat.  While on side of the road, replacing a flat tire with a subwoofer, even if the lug nuts match, isn't advisable.

The spare tire is on the spare tire carrier, just in case. ;)

So do you want just the floor area?

I really just need the width of the recessed part from quarter to floor, I hope its not smaller than 11".

I get 10" deep without removing the tire, this is where it bends under the tire.
29" wide x roughly 11" from the back wall (with carpet.)
