You need to figure your actual mileage. Write down the mileage reading from your odometer the next time you fill up. That's all the info you need the first time. Once you burn off that tank and go to fill up, write down the mileage again and the number of gallons of gas you pump in to fill up.(listed below the price on the pump). Subtract your first mileage reading from the second and divide the number of miles by the gallons of gas you just bought.
Example:
1st reading - 76914.35
2nd reading - 77106.1
77106.1 - 76914.35 = 191.75
Gallons purchased - 14.49
191.75 ÷ 14.49 = 13.23
So that means I got 13.23 mpg the last time I kept track, and that included about 2 hours of beach running in 4Hi. (The number is actually slightly higher in reality since I'm running oversize tires and my speedometer is slow.) I'm interested to see what your mileage is to compare the difference between the TBI and carbed 350s. My mileage tickles me to death with this truck because my carbed 85 S-10 got the same dang mileage with the 3.4L.
