building a 77 K10 mostly gonna be street driving
it has stock springs and thoroughly worn out bushings,
rides rough and drives terrible,
Ive seen prices all over the map,
from $350 rough country
http://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-135-20.html
to
$650 for what appears to be the same items from Tuff country
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tfy-12710kh?seid=srese1&gclid=CKifuqvtlsACFQxp7AodBk4AlQ
to $70 each from this place
http://www.generalspringkc.com/Leaf_Springs_Chevrolet_GMC_Truck_1500_1973_1987_s/1823.htm
im confused and also, from looking atit cant figure out how you remove the shackle/frame bushing in the front spring.
dont see any way to push the old one out since the bracket inside of the frame is only large enough for the bolt to pass thru and is rivited to the frame.
-
we may do a 4'' lift,
just want to run 33's so 2 inch should be enough,
-
Since your heading said "best riding 2" lift", I would say neither tuff or ruff country is going to work.
Yes they are cheaper, but ride stiff as a board. If you want a soft riding lift you should look at skyjacker or super lift. More expensive, but you get what you pay for.
-
I've read tuff country EZ and super lift were the least stiff.
The one from BDS is probably the best. But a lot more $$
-
You have to make sure your comparing the same productss, not just price.
The cheap springs at $70 each are just springs. That's $140 a pair without U bolts or shocks. In the picture (assuming its not just a file photo) the 3 leaf springs only have the metal spring wrap band at 1 end, the other springs you listed have the band at both ends.
The other 2 options that you listed cost more because they are complete lift kits.
The Rough Country kit shows 5 leafs in the spring pack. Might be better suited for a truck with a plow or a big heavy winch bumper on it.
The Tuff Country Kit from Summit Racing includes the EZ ride springs. Might be the best riding ones out of the 3 that you listed.
Also keep in mind the shipping cost. Summit offers free shipping. I ordered my Tuff Country 2" HD front springs from Off Road Design because I was also ordering the heavy duty greaseable front shackle kit and stud kit for my Dana 60 from them. Shipping came to $140 for the 2 springs and a tiny little box of shackles/studs, so that's something to keep in mind.
As far as my Tuff Country 2"HD front springs, I'm very happy with them. but my truck is a M1028 5/4 ton truck with a 6.2 diesel.

dont pay any attn to the photos, the companies just throw any picture up, some have shocks in the pic, but they dont come with the kit, and some have shocks in the kit but not in the pic
this is the one Im leaning twards.
superlift softride
$370 plus $60 shipping,
includes front springs, rear blocks, bushing & U-bolts and 4 shocks
https://www.ntwonline.com/Superlift-...l#.U_ZKA_ldWXZ
same kit without shocks is $460 at summit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sj...olet/model/k10
tuff country EZ ride without shocks at summit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tf...olet/model/k10
I dont dobt that BDS is better , but is another $200 at $650 plus shipping

You will be very happy with the super lift as far as comfort goes, it is a nice lift.

Huh. I just copied and pasted
Oh well
May not need it anyway. We mounted 33 12.50s on factory rally wheels and they seem to clear ok
Pretty sure it has 3.73 gears. So I don't think 35s will work to well without going to lower gears
Still rides like a dump truck though
-
i have the same wheel and tire setup with no lift and no clearance problems in the front(flatbed in the back so no issues at all)
-
I dont see any reason to lift it even for 35s,
the 33s clear easily, no rubbing at all,
so a little trimming and 35s would fit.
Im not sure the 3.50 axle gears would like 35s though.
-
I have a Superlift kit from the PO on my 78 K30 RCLB. Rides amazing. I believe it's a 4".
-
Worn out 33s fit fine with original saggy springs
May try to stuff 35s under there with a little trimming

Looks a lot better than with 31s
On chrome 10"
wagon wheels (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/25/a8a8a7e9.jpg)

looks good dude

Did I read that right, you want a 24" lift kit. :o

The title is missing one of the tick marks
2'. Instead of 2"
Ha. I wouldn't lift a truck at all if a sawzall would work
I've seen 40s on a blazer with no lift.
Think we're gonna try squeezing 35s under it with no lift
Just a little trim should work since 33s fit with no rubbing at all
And I don't mind a little rubbing
-
Hey, I'm building an old school monster truck so 2 feet of lift works for me. ;D
-
Did you consider putting three-leaf springs from a later model in front?
