Sunday, August 3rd, 2014: In preparation for the Disc brake swap I pulled my Combination valve off and gutted it.  This will remove the bias portion and basically make it a distribution block.

Monday, August 4rd, 2014:
I also picked up a 1981 Trans Am Disc Master Cylinder for it.  Removed the old MC and replaced it with the new one and bled it.

Saturday, August 16th, 2014: Got the 4x4 diff out and ready to mock it in place. (had to set the angles to get the shock mounts replaced)

Removed the driveshaft, emergency cables, shocks and rear brake line.  I also found my Western Chassis spindles and decided to order 4" Western Chassis drop leafs

Saturday, August 30th, 2014: Planned the day around installing the new drop leaf springs and Caltracs.
Here is the Caltracs right out of the box:

The front spring eye bushing will have to be completely removed and a new aluminum bushing.  I used a press to do this.

Here is a comparison of the dropped vs stock leaf

Test fitting the caltrac.  They must be able to move freely.  So some metal was trimmed off the sides (both required some clearancing, this was the worst side)

With the new leafs in place it was time to lift the axle up into position.  (not alot of pics as I was doing this by myself.)

Drivers side in and passenger side in.  It was at this time I checked the shock location on the 4x4 perches and made not of how I wanted to move them.  (they were binding)

Sunday, August 31st, 2014: Time for the front drop spindle.  Removed the rotor and it had seen better days. (remember I am replacing the STD brakes with HD rotors and Wilwood calipers.  I replaced the hoses with 1971 C10 hoses to match the caliper fitting.

Removed the caliper

Removed the dust cap and cotter pin

Removed the tie rod ends

Chained down the spring for safety and slowly let down on the jack.

With the nut loos I left a number of thread on and tapped the spindle with a hammer to get it loose

dropped the jack down and removed the spindle.

Here is a comparison of the stock Std spindle vs the Western HD (1.25" brake) spindle

Sunday, September 17th, 2014: Found the solution for my shocks.  I removed the shock mounts from a 88-98 rear diff and using the measurements make prior I had a buddy come buy and weld on the new shock mounts.
