Hooks coming out of headliner?
« on: May 26, 2015, 11:19:00 PM »
So folks, it's night time over here in Phoenix so I can't help ya out with pictures right at the moment, but I can describe what I'm seeing.

So in my 1976 GMC K25 Suburban, I'm redoing the headliner (front and rear pieces) and I noticed, aside from the janky home press-on light someone installed, there are 3 metal brackets that are rectangular, poking through my headliner in the back, bent at a 90 so they sit parallel with the headliner

In this arrangement:

------                  -------

                -
                -
                -
                -

Just picture those as rectangular brackets coming out the headliner, then bent over to be flush with the headliner.

Anyone have any idea what these are for? I also found that someone ran speaker wire through the headliner, it's coming out of a location very close to those brackets.

I'll throw a picture up later on today, I did figure it out actually, the hooks were there to support some weird shaped speaker assembly. Ripped em out so I can accomodate the rear AC parts I just acquired.
