Hey guys so I have this little problem...I bought myself a nice shiny Edelbrock 1406 carb to mount onto my 2101 manifold. Well I read that the square bore carb wont seal up on my spread bore manifold and an adapter is in my near future. I looked on the edelbrock website and I found the square bore to spread bore adapter but it say's its not for use on two models of intake manifolds...one of which is the 2101 that I have :( Any of you guys dealt with this problem before? Anybody know a different adapter or gasket that will work? Im going to call them tomarrow but i figured some input from you guys could be helpfull too :)

I believe that if your manifold looks like the one pictured it is a dual pattern meant for either square bore or spread bore.
***Just jumped to the web and confirmed. Summit calls the 2101 a square/spread bore intake. That's probably why they don't recommend the adapter plate for that intake.

Sometimes, and I've never really experienced it because I almost always run a spacer, is that the on the either/or manifold, ie spread or square, that the square bore carbs don't like to seal up and you need a small plate beneath. That's what I heard.
Kinda like this:

or this:

but according to that edelbrock one, you'd be alright since maybe the holley is a little bit different. Although the carter style carb should be the same 4150 pattern??. . .who knows.

I got a hold or an Edelbrock tech on the phone and he said that with that combo I can use a plain old square opening gasket :)
