Standing back and looking at the thing...and then using my phone inclinometer app, I realized that my engine is sitting with about 4° rearward slant (that's great!) and is heeled-over to the passenger's side 2°?! With the intake manifold on, I can see it more clearly. The top of the intake manifold is off of the centerline of the firewall by about an inch. I wonder if my frame is slightly off, or if just all of the bolt holes and fasteners have enough slop for it to tilt that much?! It won't solve all of my header issues, but maybe it will allow the RH header to fit?

Haven't posted anything about my rig in a while.  I have been slowing down in the last few details of my LS conversion, found here: http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=34079.0

Most recently I have been putting all new front-end stuff on.  I am not super impressed with the aftermarket 4-lamp grille pieces and I think the Chevy emblem fits like crap, but it is on there and to the untrained eye, looks pretty good!  Definitely shinier than the old stuff!

Picked up my wrecking yard OEM hood find from the painter yesterday.  Freshly painted in PPG Deltron DBC9700 Base Coat Black (AKA: Jet Black)!
Very little filler was used in the hood.  As you can see my first hood behind it was a bust!  I found this hood on a really straight and clean 1991 Suburban in original paint with zero damage.
I also found a set of 1973-1980 Front Bumper Guards and...AND...a set of 1981-1991 Front Bumper Guards!  More on those later.
