1986 305 and 350 engines had one piece rear main seal and perimeter valve cover bolts. Of course heads and block could be from different years. Some, if not most, TBI engines had no provision for a mechanical fuel pump.

If heads are original to the engine, that really narrows things.
Mine does have a mechanical pump.
Interesting note: when I purchased the truck there was an oil leak which I traced to the tapped
hole on the front (originally a motor mount hole 1955-57.)
This hole is in line with the fuel pump rod and can be used to hold the rod in place during fuel pump replacement by threading a bolt into the block and contacting the rod.
This hole may have bee unplugged (hence leaking) since the motor was installed.
