No spark after replacing distributor 1981 GMC Truck 305 v8
« on: July 28, 2018, 03:19:11 PM »
Hello all,

I decided to replace my distributor.  I've now been through three of them since making this decision.  I had a five-pin HEI with the ESC.  Thought I'd replace with a four pin and do away with the ESC.  Ran for a moment, but then after attempting to adjust the timing, got no spark when I turned it back on again.  Tried another one, same issue.  Went back to a new five-pin distributor, same issue.

Is it possible that I blew something somewhere back in the circuit, like a fusable link?  Anyone have any ideas or have a diagram of the circuitry with some idea as to why I wouldn't be getting any spark?

Thanks!

Thanks, but Not sure what you're asking.

Do you have 12 volts at the ignition coil?
