86 k10 spring question

I am upgrading my truck from a 454 to a 5.3l LS, it has a skyjacker 6 inch lift and rancho shocks all around with dual shocks up front. It’s a very firm suspension even when the 454 was in it now that I’m putting the lighter 5.3 in it could I possibly remove 2 springs from each pack to lessen the stiffness?

That might help but how stiff are the shocks? Losing leafs won't affect their performance.
