"Working Girl" post index & goodbye: I've bought a new truck
« on: April 20, 2017, 10:58:03 PM »
Well, it's time to take my leave as an active participant here.  I've bought a new truck, and will be selling Working Girl. I've just gotten to the age where I want (and need) the comfort and conveniences of a modern vehicle.  I bought a 2017 Sierra 1500 Denali CCSB with the 6.2l.

As I take my leave, I thought I would past an index to the most informative posts I've written on various fora.  I thought to put it in this sub-forum, as this is where I hung out the most, and the really killer posts are engine posts.

Here's a list of all my modifications on Working Girl over the past seven years:

GM 10067353 350cid crate engine
Comp Cams 12-300-4 marine/RV camshaft
Edelbrock 1406 carburetor
Edelbrock 2601 Air-Gap Performer intake manifold
Hooker 2453 headers and dual exhaust straight out the back through Flowmaster 40s
Thermac air cleaner with cold-air induction
Taylor wires and Proform valve cover hold downs with wire clips
94-amp 12SI alternator
Flex-o-lite electric fan and controller
Front bumper with built-in fog lamps
Dual 16-gallon tanks
Aries step bars
Dual fuel gauges
Tachometer
Semi-custom heated leather bucket seats with center console/jump seat
Floor-mounted wiper mist button
JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69 CD Receiver
Highliner headliner with four Kicker DS400 speakers
Lanzar VCTBS8 active subwoofer
Three 12 VDC accessory sockets under the dash
Tough Country EZ-Ride Springs and Shocks, +2" front, +3" rear
Rhino Liner bedliner

Here's a set of pointers to articles I've posted on how to do all of the above:

Rich,

Though it is sad to here that you will be leaving us, I hope that you will be able to pop in once in a while and extend your knowledge just like you have so many many times in the past. You have been an invaluable resource to this site and it's members. I know how you feel, as I have stopped driving my pride and joy square body and moved on into a newer and more practical vehicle for my life situation, I hope and dream to return one day and be able to start a full restoration that can be shared during that process. I hope that one day you will be able to return, possibly with a new project and be more regular, if your situation allows of course. I know I'm thankful for all of the help and support you have provided for me over the course of my membership. Though it's not possible, I wish I could buy your truck so you know it will have a good home and I can never have too many of these trucks. I know you will enjoy your new truck very much, I work on these new GM vehicles every day and they are excellent machines, I wish I could buy a brand new truck. Anyway, best wishes to you again, stay safe have fun and stay GM! You will always be a top notch member here! Return soon!

Thanks!  I'll probably pop in once in a while.  I won't be able to help much, though, without a vehicle to reference.  So since it's the end of projects for me, I thought I would index the posts so people could find them all and bookmark the ones they have an interest in.

You will be greatly missed Rich. I can't tell you how many times I have clicked on a new thread and read the questions inside and thought "Rich can handle this one". I've also read that many times lol "wait for Rich to respond"

Thanks for collecting all those links in one place I have several of them bookmarked now I'll just bookmark this thread lol

Now you can move on to a forum for new Chevy trucks and teach them a thing or two 8)

Hey man, I doubt you'll remember me but thanks a lot for your advice a couple of years back! So glad I went down the 12-300-4 road. All the best and have fun with the new truck

Thanks for all your help the past years.  I'll never leave, never have a new truck, don't like em.  My 01 is as new as I will ever go and will sell it whenever one of my Squares goes back to heavy hauler duty.

I'm sure your advice on selecting cams & tuning carbs has helped more people than you know.

got a question for you guys since were all on here. if you unplug a sensor on a tbi, lets just say CTS does it trip a limp mode for the engine and give it a "happy medium"

It looks at the PID's including the false value input and "runs" accordingly. Garbage in garbage out.
