Title: Where to buy miscellaneous exhaust fittings
Post by: 1LOW4X4 on March 03, 2011, 09:03:25 PM
Hey all, I have bought headers, mufflers, straight pipe and an H pipe kit from Summit.

But I'm trying to find things like 2.5" turndowns, nothing polished or fancy, just steel. Also, maybe 'S' shaped or 45's to make 'S' shaped turns, to get over and under a crossmember. ANy help? Is there another site other than the usual summits where you can get such things?

Those are prolly stainless too. I'd hit up a local exhaust shop, tell them what you need and see if they'll help. Most local, non chain shops are pretty cool like that.

Summit should have a "kit" of mandrel bent pipe.

I purchased the PYPES brand turndowns from summit. 20 bucks or so for the pair.

I just did the exhaust on my burb with a kit I got from Summit. It was Flowmaster's 2.5" universal hotrod kit, or something like that. I came with plenty of pipe for the burb, and had all of the bends I needed to get it turned over the rear end, except one on each side. I had the local muffler shop make those bends, and it's done. At $10 to make those bends, I came out pretty good, and can say I did it myself. Oh yeah, the kit even has provisions for an H-pipe (not installed yet). Of course, I had to buy the mufflers, and the weld-on flanges for the headers too. I did it all myself for less than the price I was quoted by the muffler shop. but of course they bend you over on the price of the mufflers. They wanted $80 eaxh for some %30 turbos. I went with non polished magnaflows. Love them by the way.
