Title: Encouraging posters to complete the threads they start
Post by: bake315 on March 16, 2020, 07:31:51 PM
This is just my own humble opinion, but I wish those who come to the forum in search of help (and receive it in many cases), would take the time to post the resolution (or whatever ultimately happened).  Letting threads just sort of trail off, at least to my mind, makes them somewhat less effective in keeping our trucks on the road.  I'm probably guilty of the very same thing over the years, but with regard to actual problems I do try to post final results, if not express a measure of appreciation for those who've already done the legwork, or had those experiences.

Just saying,

It would be nice for sure.  Most just rely on Facebook groups for their help, I just shake my head

Being retired it is a big source of entertainment.  I run a tight ship on the groups I run but some are just out there.  I've picked up a few deals on Marketplace and made some money selling on eBay to supplement being retired.

i totally agree, and i usually follow through while trying to be as detailed as possible.   But i've been very busy lately and haven't been able to complete the "TBI car" thread;   The trans came back from the shop and i'm working on that as the truck is/was primary transportation for me.

But there have been other developments as well, which i'll update asap.

Facebook is a cesspool of bad information where you are guaranteed a bombardment of people shouting out answers to questions, where they have no clue what they are talking about. Oh and everyone is a tough guy too who can back up their claims with their uncle's truck that he ordered from the factory.

I joined FakeryBook just after my sister passed, she had family pics there that I wanted to access.

Didn't know I had so many psycho relatives!!

You can pick your friends, but not your family, right?

But like a good BM, it's all behind me now  8)
