Steering lock pin
« on: February 06, 2021, 09:40:57 PM »
I have a standard shift tilt wheel with lights and wipers on the stalk, I replaced the turn signal switch and headlight switch.  The spring that moves the locking pin into the plate was broken.  I replaced the rack and the spring but I can’t get the pin to slide out when the key is switched to off.  Anyone have a picture of the proper install?  Or ideas?

Sounds like you don't have it clocked correctly. Time to take it back apart.

Little spring that goes in the gear for the rack wasn’t right. Found this on another thread after searching with my computer.     http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/images/d/d6/Jazzman_Steering_Rack_Rebuild.pdf
