Newbie from Mechanicsville Virginia
« on: May 02, 2019, 02:27:34 PM »
Well just received approval to be a part of the forum here. I’m a 65 yr old retired Carpenter with a passion for adopting and restoring old trucks and cars. I started my first project after retirement (3yrs ago) by purchasing a 1ton GMC Dually (Bubba) from a local farmer. I hauled it home and rebuilt the complete brake system all except the master cylinder, new tires, rubber hoses from fuel tank, and many wires and vacuum hoses that the field mouse chewed up. I bought a 1985 Silverado (Jack) lwb with a blown head gasket, got motor running transmission went bad installed a th 400 and replaced the interior new tires, daily driver now. I purchased a 1984 K10 (Joe) project short bed (father son project ) that had come to a stop after the wheel chock was moved (accidentally)and truck rolled into a shed. The truck came with an 5.3 out of a 2005 suburban and nothing else, sense then I have bought 2 complete 1984 parts trucks that turned out to be too good to part out. That’s were I am today.
By the way I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 45 years we have 2 children and 1 grand daughter, my wife still helps me with the projects, and cruises with me in our 1968 short bed step side and our 1978 Malibu Classic.
I look forward to watching all the projects everyone’s working on that’s all for now will try to post pictures later.
 thanks Preston

Awesome, welcome from the St. Louis, MO area.  Loved that you have a name for them all.  I've been retired for 14 months myself and have 5 squares in total.  Post pictures when you can.
