Wiring Harness
« on: March 05, 2013, 02:27:23 PM »
Hi there,

Does anyone one know where a good place is to get a wiring harness for my 74 Chevy K10 with 350 small block. The wiring harness in it now had been spliced and hacked up pretty good. It also seems to have a battery isolater. Was this standard with the 74? If not, will it be hard to take out. I've never attempted to replace a wiring harness so I'm a little nervous

Check out the store here and email Captkaos, describing what you want.  He sells quality wiring harnesses.

Preparedness is your best friend when it comes to redoing a wiring harness.  The more you prepare, the easier it will be.

Thank you guys for the help. So I got my hands on a 78. Chevy truck 2wd that I am going to use for parts. Now mine is a 74 K-10. Can I swap out the harnesses from the firewall forward on them?

ESC, Feedback Carb, etc...  All this started in 1981.  Any universal harness will be for all years so all that stuff will be gone..  Even the 1973-1981 setup can be used on up to 1987, but the EFI stuff won't be there...  And is comes with all the connectors.

You should be able to swap, but the pinouts on the bulkhead need to be verified...
