would a factory 78 c20 a/c system work in a 77 c10?

Would it work? Is it worth getting an old factory one? A guy wants $150 for supposedly everything.

Lot of work switching it over especially if your truck did not come with factory AC.

GM changed from TXV to orifice valve systems in the late 1970s.  TXV is less adaptable to non R12 refrigerants.  Either system can be used as long as you have an AC firewall.
