Scored some spare transmissions last week. Picked them up from a scrap yard that went out of business. Got a rebuilt A833/MY6/MM7 four speed standard and a 700R4 for $50 each.

They already sold most of their inventory. Apparently they had shelves full of rebuilt Muncie 4 speeds that they sent to the scrapper because nobody wanted them. They still have some stuff sitting around. Had an LS (4.8 or 5.3 I think) for $550. Also a 4L80E and I think some 4L60E.  Random other items. Anyone in SW Missouri wants one of those shoot me message.

Here is a picture of my latest addition to the spare stuff pile.

I seem to recall seeing door skins for our trucks on a couple of websites a few years back.  They were full door skins, except for the window surround.  In other words, they were complete from the bottom of the door up to the window.  I can't find any reference to these anywhere these days.  Does anyone else remember these? If so, what happened to them?

I was trying to remove my dash pad in my '87 Suburban Silverado recently and got a bit careless. I didn't realize the vent ducting was held up against the openings with these little plastic studs and nuts. They broke off and fell out. What can I do about this? I haven't really stuck my head up in there yet but is there a replaceable part around the vent that I can get? I don't think glue would be a viable option for this.

My A6 compressor has bit the dust again. Last time replaced was  8/23/2019.  Not sure if I want to use another rebuilt one or go with another style. Found this website and wondered if anyone has used one of these before.
If anyone has had good luck with another brand, please let me know.

When I got my truck the fuel system was quite dirty, guess it had been sitting a while, the carb which was on it was an
Edelbrock, not sure what model, but it ended up choked with crud from the tanks. Anyway after giving the tanks a good clean out I needed another carb, I had one I'd rebuilt for my Corvette but due to a mismatch with the manifold it wasn't suitable so I fitted a Brawler 670 and now it's happy.
The carb I had from the Corvette was a Holley List 6619-1 which is a 600cfm with electric choke, this has worked OK on my truck but can't help wondering if it might be a bit small?
The truck came to me with a 383 stroker but I have no other info about the motor other than a sticker from Crane Cams saying the cam is CARB compliant with an EO No. D225-21 but don't know if this identifies the cam or not?
Truck is a 76 C10 longbed with a TH400 tranny, it seems to run OK and seems OK on fuel although I've never tried to get a consumption figure.
Googling the cam sticker seems it covers various cams and valve gear so no help there!
Any ideas?
Thanks
Graham
