flexplate
« on: October 29, 2021, 10:19:46 PM »
Hi, I have a 1986 Chevy K20 with a 350. The engine was replaced before I got the truck. I had to replace the oil pan gasket and it appears to be a pre 1986 block. The flexplate is cracked. My question is should I be getting a weighted or unweighted flexplate. I don't trust just replacing what was there. PO did a lot of things wrong. Thanks

If it has a two-piece rear main seal then use an 85 flexplate but you didn't specify which trans you have so be sure it is the correct bolt pattern for your torque converter.

Thanks, transmission is a TH400. I'll have to wait till I pull everything to get a look at Seal housing. Thanks
