Need advice on suspension - 84 C10
« on: June 29, 2018, 01:19:21 PM »
I am currently using my C10 to pull a small camper.   Just got a new Blueprint crate engine and transmission rebuild.  Differential was rebuilt as well.   I drive between 55 and 60 and run around 2500 rpm.

I have new shocks in front and new coil over shocks in the rear as well as the 3 leaf springs.

My problem ... this is one rough ride!  I have heard its because it is a short wheel base.  The roads in Arkansas are horrible and I would just like a smooth ride.   I know that 1984 suspension technology is pretty basic but does anyone have suggestions for a smoother ride??   Air shocks?? etc.

thanks for any suggestions you can throw my way.

Jack

I would consider air bags. Also check out Sulastic shackles for better ride when empty or very light.
