Transmission Help
« on: May 09, 2006, 09:03:00 PM »
I have a 73 C-10 350CI and the original TH350 has failed. I found a THM 200-4R for free and need a few answers. The code on the side of the tranny is:
CR   F
098-861CRF0586
First off, what year and what did this tranny come out of and the biggest questions I have is how do I wire it up for the TCC to work. I have all the wiring from the brake pedal to the vaccume switch to the tranny but I do not have the computer. Do I need the computer or can I wire it up without it? If so, how do I go about doing it. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for all the help. It is greatly appreciated. After all the rain stops here in PA, I can get started on this project.

The computer basically controlled the spark timing and monitored the TCC brake input, cruise control and low vac input on some models. It also applied the TCC solenoid. It's easy to just use the pressure switch and low vacuum switch but the 2004R will need to have a dual bolt pattern bellhousing to bolt up to your 350. Also this is a pretty weak trans. . . good luck
