Problem with adding photo on profile
« on: September 16, 2007, 09:46:36 PM »
I have tried numerous times and with different web browsers to upload a photo of my truck to my profile.  I select a jpeg photo 128k in size.  When I update, I get a blank screen.  Nothing is updated when I go and check out my profile.  What should I be doing?

I had the same problem trying to save a small avitar.  I can pick from one or download mine.  When I go to save it, it is gone.  Oh well

You can upload a picture to www.photobucket.com  and then copy the url and put it in the box that has the http:// in it.

The picture HAS to be no larger than 60x60 pixels in size.

I revised the photo to be a 60 by 60 pixel image (3600 total pixels).  I then selected the image and clicked the change profile.  Now I do not get a blank page but instead I now have the same page loaded with no update taking place.  Attached is the image I tried to use.  I guess I can go the route of using photobucket per red4wd suggestion.  Just would like to figure out why I cannot get the image to upload.

I checked the pixel size of my revized image and found it to be 69 x 54 pixels so I edited the original image to a 60 x 45 pixel image (2700 total pixels) and I still cannot get it to upload to my profile. ????

Attached is the new image.

Seems stange that I can attach this file to the posting but am not able to add the same file to the profile section.  Go Figure.

Apparenlty the forum is appending a bunch of paths in the image link and posting it incorrectly.  I changed the profile to point to the correct URL where it was located.  BTW, I just found out it is 80x80 pixels.  I forgot I changed it....

Tried it one more time.  This time using the PC at my employer's showroom.  Thought it might be a Mac thing since I use an Apple computer.   Well, the end result remains the same.  Cannot add any photos that I've been trying to update my profile with.

Oh well.  Will look at other ways to accomplish the task.

You don't have to keep uploaded them.  The problem is with the link association not the computers or the web browser you are using.  It is the forum info....  Once you upload it, I can fix it.

Crap, I can't find the correct URL.  Send it to me and I will fix it or if you upload it, I can correct it.

You might be able to see the file you uploaded from the drop down selection if you remember what it was called when you uploaded it.

Well, I am going to have to do some research on the forum software to get this fixed.  Once I do I will post back that it should be working now.

Jay, yours is using photobucket, but you are using the wrong URL for linking.
You need to use http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee197/nartyaj/87chevy1500001.jpg as the URL in your profile if you plan to use photobucket.
This is about uploading a picture from your computer.  Did you try that and it didn't work?  That is what I posted was working now.

Just logged in since the 18th and noticed all seems to be working now.

Thanks,
