I think I am confused.  That frame doesn't have a notch in it.  If you are leaving the springs like stock you need the factory top Plat like the rust one above.

This is a new frame. I pulled the drop shackles and drop mount off of the old frame. Didn't want my truck that low so I'm not using the c-notch. If I flipped the axle on the new frame it would need it. I also deleted the drop spindles and kept the drop springs.

Not sure when the guy plans on using the axle flip so I'm taking off the original plate. Didn't feel like rolling around at the junk yard. He can swap them off when he gets to it.

Needs some attention, media needed replacing, lights burnt out and glass film needed replacement. Got tired of using grinders.

I've been busy with holliday stuff, working on my 77 and 83 trucks also. May or may not start threads on them. Got hollered at for getting over spray on some stuff so that led to another project. Nothing professional but it works and I can break it down and store the frame.

Probably going to need to grab extra filters. Clogs up quick.

it's gone from Brown to black 4 times so far.

Well guys I had a a busy year traveling for work and a broken dodge cummins that put a hole in my wallet. But I'm back digging through my parts picking up where I left off. This time I'm working both my orange truck, pulled the gearbox, hydroboost, and power steering box of my 84 dually. Rebuilt the gear box wich is surprisingly easy. Waiting on some custom sockets from the machine shop so I can torque the worm gear bearings correctly and adjuster nut. Also the dang hydroboost didn't come with a firewall plate and getting a socket made for it to instead of buying one for $100+. Got the front leafs for my 83 4x4 4door swb blasted today. Fixing to pull the monster lift off of it. Goal is to get these dang projects put to daily drivers so I can get out from under these expensive diesels. Got a couple of turbo too!!

Had a couple touch up spots on ends, was dark in booth last night. Clean the cobwebs off the other pieces. Teflon gaskets and bushings after paint cures

Got bushings and teflon on. Now I can finally move the frame around to the front of the shop and start bolting lines and tanks on. Got to dig through all my parts and see if I have another extra set of tank mounts. I sacrificed mine to my brothers truck. Got a buddy that might have an extra set. He deleted his for a custom rear mount he had built. Got several hours of driving tomorrow so may not get much accomplished other than parts gathering. What ever I dig up for tank straps hopefully I don't have to get them blasted. If so got plenty of other things to work on like prepping the motor with new parts.

So I've searched high and low through my shop, and in all my boxes of parts. Some how I've lost 2 of my axle u-bolts. Got everything I have bought for this truck accounted for except for the 2 things I need right now :( Got a friend of mine hunting his parts to see if he kept his after his axle flip. Hopefully I come up with something this weekend or I'm going to order a couple new ones.

Hot dog!! I found them. Found them in a scrap been outside. Thought the threads was toast. Cleaned them up~threads, and the paint held up good for where they was. :) going to blast and repaint for good measure. If they lasted that well in the pile that was in means the rest of the job I've done will last year's. How they got there I'll never know.

Got the leaf of and rolled her around to the front of the shop. Going to have to do some hammering on the tank flange. Coming up short. Buddy of mine has an extra set of tank straps going to pick them up tonight. Got to get on the computer and dig up old pics of how all the fuel and brake lines was mounted tonight.

Picked up my parts from my buddy. The brackets come with feshly cleaned tanks and brand new sending units only used to break in a 383 stroker.  This works out becuase my short wide 4x4 has been sitting for several years. One of my brothers borrowed it and blew the trans up. Still waiting on the money for that. But instead of cleaning the tanks I can just swap these in it. Also when I picked them up I got the tank shields too which I didn't have on my truck or the parts frame I got. Going to check them out in the daylight and decide if I'm going to use them.

Went to pull these brackets off the tanks and noticed something. The metal base wraps around the tank more than the ones I have bolted to my frame and have another hole for the plastic shield mount. I didn't catch this when I stripped the original frame and the new frame. When I stripped the new frame I had everything blasted then stacked the parts to be used as I put it together, it is an 81 frame if I remember correctly, must be why the straps are different. When I got the cab off and started stripping the original frame one side of the tank mounts was busted from being wrecked. And I didn't think anything of it when I pulled them that they was different. So I'm most likely going to use both sets of these new tank mounts. Going to have them blasted with the rear leaf springs of my other truck on Monday.
