If you don't already have the hood ornament the following picture is where the original one was located.

I've got a factory ornament but this one has a flat base and will need to be modified to fit on the ridge. Wondering how best to cut and file it down without destroying the chrome.

Have you thought of making a base that covers the contour of the hood to mount it too?

You pay shipping and I’ll cut you a piece of mechanical rubber for the base. That way at least the only permanent modification will be there hole in the hood. PM me.

I love the duck!
Making a base is probably the only way to not damage the chrome.

You'll have to make a base for it that fits the duck and your hood contours.  Then just drill two holes through it to bolt it down.  I bought one for my '78 but it was too big (sized for a big rig)  so I ended up putting mine on my tractor.

Don't try and modify the duck, you have to make an adapter from duck to your hood.
