Well got the Bed all undercoated and painted with a good rust protecter (Bill Hirsch Miracle Paint) and then covered that with 3m rubber undercoat, so the bed should be pretty well protected now. I think it came out pretty good and i was lucky there was ZERO rust or rot on it. Also switched out the old cab mounts which were destroyed (thanks to the advice i recived on here!) with new ones from   and it solved the bed and cab body line problem, now the lines are lookin much better. I ordered my Flowmaster full exhaust today pics to follow....

Mufflers are one of those gray areas where you can't rely on what any other person says.  They're so speculative it isn't funny.  Best thing I found is to haunt the local cruise-ins, find a car/truck you like the sound of , find out what setup they have and mufflers and copy them.

I've found most of the flowmasters sound the same tone-wise, you just pick the loudness.  If you're going for true duals, they will be LOUD!  on a single setup, they will be loud.   I got a thrush-welded (chambered) muffler on mine.  It sounds deeper than flowmasters but are just as loud and cost half as much.  It's fairly loud and this is on a 2.5" single exhaust.  I bet they'd scream in a good way on true duals!

I picked my muffler after seeing a blue 63 impala with those same mufflers and it sounded wicked.  so I bought me one.  I'll be getting the other half someday, and ill put anopther one on there to match what i have now.  that impala sounded excellent.

Most set ups can sound good for less money than the flowmasters. I have holley flotech headers and a magna flow dual in/dual out muffler and love the sound. Fairly quiet for cruising speeds and loud when i get in to it. never any drone.

Hey everyone, I havent posted any updates on my truck in 3 years basically cuz it sat for a while and I had a couple kids lol, anyway the past year I have been doing a lot of work with the help of some close friends so here are some pics of the progress. It started out i was just gonna paint it but you know how that goes. Im learning a lot through the process, I have zero body or mechanical experiance but am learning from some friends. Thanks for looking.
