Saturday, April 7th, 2012: Cleaned up behind the dash this morning, sorting out the wiring and mocking in the Dakota VHX analog gauges.

Sunday, April 15th, 2012: Searched around for a good location for the VHX mount and decided the gas pedal was the right spot.  Cut up an aluminum piece to mount the Dakota controller to the brake pedal, cut and countersunk mounted.

This is what it looks like mounted

Saturday, April 21st, 2012: After getting the gas pedal mounted back in the truck, I found that the pedel (using the factory 03 throttle cable) lacked about an 1" to give WOT. Mounted the assembly in a vise, measure the length and bent the throttle lever back.  I also found that Dakota has a Module that could potentially eliminate some require wiring as it could send data to the cluster straight from the ALDL, so I mounted the module to the top of the throttle bracket.
In this picture it shows the end at 5-5/8" lenght.  Previously it was 4-5/8"

This is with both modules attached:

Here is a comparion of a stock gas pedal (rear) versus the one I modified.

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012: I am bound and determined to get the LS ECM mounted in the stock TBI ECM location, so I threaded all of the wiring through
the factory opening.  Here is a pic working on the engine side of the wiring today. Trying to determine how I am going to route everything.

This is what I ended up with for the time being

This is what the interior looked like:

Sunday, April 29th, 2012: This was my first attempt at mounting the LS ECM.  I hacked up the factory TBI mount.  I didn't like this so I started looking for another option.

Friday, May 18th, 2012: Here is the LS ECM right at home in its new spot.  Based on the location I should be able to route all the AC hosing and I also closed the glovebox for good measure.

Sunday, May 20th, 2012: I really wanted to mount the Fuse/Relay section along witht the fuel pump relay/test lead outside, so I pulled all of the wire ties off
the wiring and started pealing everthing back.  I ended up cutting a few wires trying to extended it but decided to ditch the effort when I realized I would have to extend
to many wires.

So I made a compromise and made a bracket for the Fuse/Relay module to mount to the ECM mount.

I then cut 2 of the fuel relay/test wires and extended it out to where the original would have gone on for the TBI. Here is the wonderful fun of soldering wires...
After getting one end of the wiring done I realized I didn't have any Heat shrink tubing, so I had to stop.

Monday, May 21st, 2012: No pictures today, but I did pickup some wiring loom in 3/4, 1/2 and 3/8" diameter along with the Heat Shrink tubing.  Hopefully tomorrow won't be so rainy and I can get most of this completed.

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012: I got the Fuel Relay wiring section extended far enough to reach outside the firewall and here is where I started on tidying up everything.

This is where I ended up. Still need to get it all tucked up, but I have to finish the wiring on the drivers side. The ECM side is done other than the AC request and the VSS Output (have to extend those) and I plan to tie the AC request into the factory harness...

I got all of the ECM wiring for the ALDL, Brake switch and power have been routed to this side. Just need to get extended the VSS Output and then get it all it all connected to the Dakota Digital Module.

Progress got delayed for 2 weekends because it rained all weekend long, and Labor day and fathers day fell on the other 2 weekends

Saturday, June 23th, 2012:  Removed some wiring from the main harness and also pulled out the factory ALDL mount and put the LS one on and mounted it in place temporarily to make sure I have enough room for routing.  I also routed the Dakota Oil pressure sensor out the firewall.

Sunday, June 24th, 2012:  Pulled the Cruise wiring out of the truck along with the Seat belt warning and ashtray fiber (can't use them) and the Oil pressure gauge and ECM wires.

After removing wiring above I started with connecting all the required wiring do the Dakota Digital controller.

In this picture, the High beam, Constant ground and brake warn lights have been connected to the Dakota controller
