i have an 87 C-10 , and im putting in two 12" subs behind the seat and ive got FOUR 6x9s to get in there somewhere....the other day i realized that the 6x9s have a really strong magnet on the underside of them.....i was thinking about simply attaching the magnet to the inside metal of the truck and leaving them be......DO SPEAKERS HAVE TO HAVE BOXES?? i am clueless if this will work without speaker boxes, they take up too much room and the magnet would just hold them on the inside sheet metal quite nicely and out of the way. By the way, im not worried about the look or appearance of any of the speakers in my truck, just as long as they operate and are louuuud.

You really don't want to stick the speaker to the back wall of the cab.
