my 84 is slow, my s10(4cyl, auto) is very slow, now the camaro is another story. Took it out for a shakedown after the new motor went in. First day off the trailer it went a 5.20 (1/8)  which was pretty good for new new setup. New motor on alcohol for the first time and still doing that good, hmmmmm, I see some high 4's on the horizon........... next we do the 69 camaro for the 10.5 tire class. The motor's done, the chassis is being built, looking for some 4.70's out of it.... a blown 640 and alky is a truly wonderful thing to experience.

76chevyman, how the heck did you get that much power from a 355 with 1.94 intake valves and a 270h cam? Im not buying it
Heres my 383 build
10.2:1 compression
vortec heads
comp 280H cam [230@.050, .480 lift]
comp roller tip rockers
eddy victor intake
750dp carb
hei w/ MSD 6a and blaster 2
1 5/8" full length headers going into 3" collectors and full dual 2.5" exaust
DD2000 says 395hp and 430lbs/ft of torque, and I should be putting down mid to high 13's with slicks. this is on a 78 c10 with a muncie wide ratio 4 speed and 3.73 gears

picture this, last run of the season for the motor. Just make a pass and we'll pull it down over the winter when then season is slow...... easier said than done. One pass, a light dose of spray, runs a nice 5.08 even after lifting for a small bit of tire shake.............. crossed the line, shook a bit, let off and clunk. Yep, just plain clunk and nothing. Hmmmm, somethin' ain't right here boys and girls. Pulled it down yesterday and to our total dismay, the oil pickup came off, lost pressure for a sec(not good for a big motor at 7500rpm) and #3 and #4 rods spun........ got hot and kicked a rod off #3 cylinder. The block will live, the crank is junk, broke two pistons, two rods(1 broke, the other hot) and hurt the cam. I'm really glad the brodix's lived though.......... frikken head work is pricey. Anyway, now we start on the big motor for next year!!!!!  oh yea, broke my giggered sheetmetal oil pan too.... now THAT pissed me off!!!!

Those 2WD's only weigh 4000?  I wish my '83 K10 Longbox only weighed that.  I hauled a bunch of junk to the landfill a few weeks ago - they wiegh you coming and going to know how much to charge you.  My truck, with me in it was 5100 Lbs - HEAVY!!!  I will need about 600 horsepower to get a 13.50 quarter.  LOL!
