Title: Header Help!
Post by: Hefeweizen on August 15, 2005, 09:43:00 PM
I have a 81 stepside which has been professionally lowered. I have a blown 350 which is just about done and will be running soon. When I got the truck it had an old set of Hedman Headers on it. The headers were a perfect fit, except on the lower bend they hit the a arms. The header pipes have been dented to make them fit. These headers would be great if instead of the 90 degree bend at the bottom they gradually came back and then straightened out to the collector. The old headers measured 16.5 inches from the flange to the lower bend. I have ordered Headman ceramic elites, but they hang down so far they almost drag on the street. I currently have the shortys sitting here in a box.

Does anyone know of another header that would eliminate this problem? Or am I stuck with the shortys?

Mike
