Has anyone used the X pipe exhaust setup with Pypes mufflers sold here? From the photo it looks like a nice setup. From what I've heard on youtube, Pypes mufflers are very nice sounding. My truck, an 87 swb with a 305 currently has 2.25'' true duals manifolds back with Dynomax Super Turbos dumped.
It currently has a nice deep tone but I am looking for something more aggressive and i know the X Pipe plays a big role in that. I plan on adding long tube headers at the same time. Will have to weld in an O2 bung. Also, are cats affected by the X pipe setup? Is there even room for them? I will need to run them.
Or, is it cheaper in the long run to just have a shop create the system right there?

You probably wont find a shop that does mandrel bending and use stainless for the price of the kit.

I wouldn't hope for a shop to build a system for less than $500. For what the kit is, I'd say it would be $1000 to $1500 to have that built in a shop. Around here a higher price for that system custom built is $1800. I think it would be worth it to buy the kit and modify it however you have to.

I have sold quite a few of them, and you can run the cats in front of the mufflers or if you have room behind the headers. This kit is Stainless Steel BTW, and it only fits 4x2 trucks. The race Pros are the loudest.
If you get emmissions headers it should have an O2 bung. Otherwise I would add it to the header.
