Title: Worn rear end?
Post by: 73 WHITE KNIGHT on March 30, 2004, 09:10:00 AM
With the drive shaft disconnected from the rear, How much "play" should there be? Im getting a strong vibration on takeoff, but when I accelerate the vibration stops and there is a squeeking noise. I am changing the u-joints but there seems to be alot of play in the rear. I can rotate the yoke about 1".

It wasn't the rear end. the carrier bearing had siezed (split drive shaft). Thanks for your input!
