« on: May 25, 2019, 08:27:39 AM »
Hey guys need some advice on where to start. Have a 83 c10
single cab that had an electrical fire when restoring and my firewall insulation pad got charred..need advice on what to replace it with before i put the heater box back in...should i go with the pad from   or something else. Want to insulate from heat and cold as well as sound. Plus i need to do entire cab as well. Thanks in advance
Gotta clean my back windshield cause I'm too busy kicking up dust

I used “Fat Mat” on the inside of the firewall and on the floor , ceiling , inside the doors , and back wall of the cab

Then installed a replacement firewall pad from a vendor

Order about double the fatmat you think you will need
If you don’t you will not have enough

Then we used some reflective foil insulation
Followed by a foam mat and carpet

I don’t know if anyone is making new ones but the diesel pickups had an extra insulation pad on the firewall under the hood to block the noise and heat
