Rear End Swap
« on: July 28, 2018, 09:40:06 AM »
Anyone have experience swapping a rear end from a 2000 Full size Chevy PU into an '84 C10?

i have not had an opportunity to measure....
Not sure about shock mounts, but I'm sure some cutting and welding will be required.

Requires moving the spring perches and shock mounts. Your perches  are at 42.5 centers and 88 and up are a I believe 47 centers.

Thanks.
Would I need to worry about warpage from welding?
The original shock mount positions on my 84 are staggered, one front and one rear.
If the 2000 rear axle is set up that way, will the shock on the trailing side interfere with the caliper?
Can the shocks be both mounted on the front side of the housing?

Turned out to be from S-10.......
Nevermind.....

Anything pre 88 for the exception of the blazer and suburban to 91 including the 3/4 ton will bolt in.

Here’s the difference between the mounting starting in 88 with the round eye body style and
1/2 and 3/4 ton square body style.

Not to mention the widths (WMS) can be different.
The first pic is what u have.
